What Is Agoda’s PointsMAX Feature?
Agoda.com created its PointsMAX feature in partnership with some major airlines.
PointsMAX allows Agoda customers to earn miles towards an airline’s rewards program while booking their accommodation through Agoda.
In this guide, we’ll explore how Agoda’s PointsMAX feature works.
We’ll cover how to register for and earn points through PointsMAX, which airlines are PointsMAX partners, and I’ll share my opinion on whether I think booking with PointsMAX is worth it or not.

How To Register For PointsMAX
Getting started with PointsMAX is fairly easy. You’ll just need to link one of your flyer rewards program to your Agoda account. Here’s how:
First, sign into your Agoda account. Next, click your account name in the upper-right corner of the home page. Then, click “PointsMAX” from the drop-down.
You’ll see this pop-up box, where you can select the specific rewards program you want to earn points for. You’ll be asked to enter your membership number for the rewards program, then select “Save”.
That’s it! You’ve successfully linked your flyer rewards program to your Agoda account. You can add rewards programs later, but can only earn miles for 1 program per booking. If you link multiple rewards programs to your Agoda account, know which program is selected as the default at the time of making your booking.

How To Earn Miles With PointsMAX
Now that a rewards program is linked, you can begin to earn miles. But as with other Agoda features (like AgodaCash and Book Now Pay Later), some Agoda listings are not eligible. Luckily, you can quickly and easily tell which listings offer PointsMAX miles.
After you’ve signed into Agoda and added a rewards program, the listings in your search results will display exactly how many miles you’ll earn by booking.
I’d earn 8,700 miles towards my United Airlines MileagePlus account by booking this listing.
Listings that offer PointsMAX miles will be slightly more expensive than those same listings without PointsMAX miles.
Here’s an example:
In this screenshot, you can see that both room choices are the same, except the bottom option costs $8 USD more and offers 850 MileagePlus miles towards my United Airlines rewards account.
So, which is better? $71/night with no miles - OR - $79/night with 850 miles?
It’s up to you! I’ll share my opinion at the bottom of this guide.

How To De-Select A PointsMAX Program To See Lower Prices
As I mentioned, listings that offer PointsMAX miles cost more than the same listings without PointsMAX miles. To see your search results without the inflated PointsMAX rates, de-select the rewards program prior to searching. To do so, click “Turn off” in the rewards program selection area.

Is PointsMAX Worth It? (My Opinion)
This depends on the way you prefer to book travel.
If you’re loyal to a particular rewards program and use points quickly and often, it’s smart to book listings that offer PointsMAX miles, as those extra miles are worth the higher nightly rates you’ll pay to Agoda.
On the other hand, if you aren’t loyal to a particular airline (meaning you tend to choose the best flight deal rather than a specific airline) and do not use points/miles often, it’s likely a waste of money to book Agoda listings at inflated PointsMAX rates.

Helpful Tips!
Your Agoda account and your flyer rewards account must be registered under the same name for the miles you earn to transfer over.
PointsMAX miles will only show up on a listing after you’ve signed into your Agoda account.
If you de-select or change your Agoda account’s default rewards program, the miles displayed on the listings may also change.
Mileage bonuses vary by rewards program.
